USA National Under 19’s Team

International Tournament – July 2013

From July 7 – 15, 2013 the USA National Under 19 team will be playing in the Division 1 ICC Americas U19 Tournament in Toronto, Canada.

This tri-series against Canada and Bermuda is a 50 Over tournament, with the winner qualifying straight through to the 2014 Under 19 Cricket World Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates.

Domestic Under 19 Matches – Selection

Leading into the July tournament a number of U19 matches will be played across the country to allow for a thorough selection process and to give our National team the best chance of success.

All players are required to hand their Primary Tournament Contact a completed 2013 USACA U19 Registration and Code of Conduct Form

Phase 1

Each region will conduct an inter-league U19 tournament before the end of April. A member from the USA National Selection Committee or USA U19 Coaching Team will attend these regional tournaments to identify talent and create a national database of talented youth players.

Phase 2

From the database created in phase 1, the National Selection Panel / Coaches will select an Eastern and Western conference team. These two teams will participate in the 2013 U19 Conference Championships, currently scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend in May.

These Championship matches will be the primary vehicle from which the USA National Under 19 team will be selected.

The East Conference will be made up of players from North East, New York, Atlantic and South East Regions, while the West Conference will consist of players from Central East, Central West, North West and South West Regions.

Phase 3

East vs West U19 Conference Championships, 3 Matches

Phase 4

Following the Conference Championships a preliminary squad of 18 will be selected.

Phase 5

The final squad of 14 will be named and submitted to ICC, the remaining 4 players will be non-travelling reserves
