Azurdeen Mohammed 133 led MMZ over Long Island United

EACA Power 40 resumed following the holiday intermission. For Meten-Meer-Zorg it was business as usual even having been inactive for the past two weeks. MMZ piled on 294 on the back of 133 by captain Azurdeen Mohammed. Deonauth Baksh and Saud Hossien contributed fifties to complete the onslaught. Long Island United were without fervor as they fold to the swing bowling of Rayhanul Islam. Islam sneering 5/17 to rout the Islanders for 79.

Centurions got their account on the road with a comfortable win over Phantom. Phantom posted 137 but it was not enough as C raghnauth finished unbeaten on 53 to lead his side to a seven wicket victory.  Falcons took Hillside to the depth after scoring just 116. But Hillside held their nerve to complete a three wicket to maintain pole position in Zone I. Big Apple made light work of Camelot completing a  convincing nine wicket victory.

In Zone II Richmond Hill face leaders Atlantis as the weekends most competitive fixture. Neither of the sides failed to live up to the billing as Atlantis posted 183 with Henderson Blades 46 and Greg Robinson 44 not out. Shameer Sadloo was workmanlike as the skipper with 4/28 and Sudesh Dhaniram 3/47. Set 184 at a rate of 4.6 per over Richmond Hill fancied their chances of extended their winning record against Atlantis. Casper Davis Jr drew first blood as he removed Debo Sankar and Sudesh Dhaniram to dent the Richmond Hill response. Jason Greaves accounted for Imran Alli to make it three down early on. Richmond Hill found their way again with a partnership between Wazid Ward 54 and Prashad Mahadeo 39. Shameer picked up the cause even amid a procession of dismissals. Shameer remained unbeaten on 35 to complete an all-round match winning performance to edge their rivals by a solitary wicket.

In other results ACS/Everest trounced Eastside Warriors by 302 runs. This was Everest’s first taste of the action all season as their previous fixtures were unplayable. Allstars register their first win, coming over Victory to keep the latter rooted at the bottom of the table. Enmore and Galaxy did not play their match and the result is under review. Action continues this Sunday.
