West Indian Professional Cricket League Team of the Round

Evin LewisEvin Lewis entered the team of the round for the first time this season. His scores of 87 and 104 against Jamaica Scorpions earned him man of the match as well as player of the round as the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force notched the rounds only win. Lewis has shown maturity of late scoring his first hundreds in all three formats this season. Lewis is the ninth top run scorer this season.

Devon Smith is into the twilight of his career and has been knocking on the Team of the Round for a number of round and was finally able to break in this week. He score 89 for Windward Island Volcanoes versus Leeward Island Hurricanes.

Shai Hope has featured in the team of the week for all but one round of which he has played in. Hope followed up last weeks 162 with an unbeaten 114 against league leaders Guyana Jaguars. Hope is currently the fifth best run scorer this season and is taking destiny in his own hands as he tries to maintain his place on the regional team.

Jonathan Carter has feature in a prior selection of the Team of the Round and returned on the back of an undefeated even hundred from the Barbados Pride against the Jaguars. Carter is 12th best on the run charts this season

Kaveem Hodge struck his maiden first class hundred for the Volcanoes against the Hurricanes to propel him into the Team of the Round for the first time as well.

Jahmar Hamilton made his second and consecutive appearance in the Team of the Round with two cameos for the Hurricanes versus the Volcanoes.

Rahkeem Cornwall is the third best wicket taker this season but did not make the Team of the Round this week for his bowling. Cornwall near miss Hundred of 97 was enough for his third appearance on the rounds eleven.

Roston Chase and Cornwall swapped roles this round as chase who had made the Team of the round by virtue of his batting on two occasions. This week Chase bagged ten wickets against the Jaguars with his offspin, filling in for Sulieman Benn, Ashley Nurse and Jomel Warrican.

Kyle Mayers made first appearance on the Team of the Round on the back of an all-round performance for the Volcanoes. Mayer scalped five wickets, then score a half century.

Nikita Miller continues to be the number one wicket take in the Caribbean this season. His seven wickets against the Red Force earn him his fourth appearance on the Team of the Round

Jon Russ Jagesssar is only into his second first class match and has broken into the Team of the Round. Jagessar’s match haul of eleven wickets versus the Scorpions has pushed him to 14th on the wicket taking charts

Team of Round Five: Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Yannick Cariah, Narsingh Deonarine, Roston Chase, Yannick Ottley, Andre Fletcher, Shane Shillingford, Ashley Nurse, Gudesh Motie-Kanhai, Nikita Miller and Miguel Cummins.
