Richie Sieuchan 196 not out against Phantoms

The EACA Power 40 season began with a run-fest as Richie Sieuchan signalled his intent. Sieuchan opening the batting for MMZ blazed an unbeaten 196, as MMZ posted 308/4. US National batsmen Azurdeen Mohammed contributed 56. Phantoms CC were never in the hunt as they folded for 92 in 28.5 overs. only F. Desai 28 and Nicshal 24 offered any resistance. Saumil Gandhi 3/12 and Rocky Kowchai 3/14 were the pick for the bowlers for MMZ.

Camelot CC bowled newcomers Centurions for 207 in 35 overs. The chase was completed in 31 over for a comfortable four wicket victory. Falcons scored 185, but it was not enough as Long Island United completed a three wicket victory. Hillside scored 256 which seemed to be an imposing total. But Arsenal took it to the wire to fall short by a mere 12 runs.

In Zone II Richmond Hill posted 317, Shameer Sadloo 72 (42) with Balgrim Datt picking up 6/45. Allstars like Phantoms were no match for such a mammoth total as they could only manage 79 off  23 overs. Seamer Deryck McDonald scalped 5 for 22 while left arm orthodox bowler Kumar Nandalall grabbed 3 for 10 to end the Allstars’ misery.

Liberty SC were led by a maiden ton from Dilly Khilawan, along with Terrence Madramootoo 75 and Danesh Deonarain 70 to post a club record 313 for 7 off 40 overs. Enmore with restricted to 219 for 9 off 40 overs. Marlon Persaud led Team Blue’s bowling attack with 4 for 41 off 7 overs. Imtiaz Hassan also contributed with 2 for 32 off 7. Safraz Alli stroked a solid 86 following up his form from the 2012 season as New York Region U-19’s Nicholas Harripersaud finished 45 not out to add to his two wickets earlier in the day.
